The Urban Developer
Le Onde is a boutique architectural development located in the desirable coastal suburb of Fairlight, Northern Sydney. With just five apartments, Le Onde boasts a unique blend of contemporary design with a ‘wow’ factor.
We acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, the Traditional Custodians of the land upon which ASKO stands. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture.
Located just a short walk from the secluded beaches, this development offers the best of both worlds – a quiet and community-oriented suburb with the convenience of proximity to Manly.
The building form is sculpted to take full advantage of the Harbour views, introducing individuality and projecting windows that articulate the building.
The DKO team was determined to avoid the cookie-cutter design of terrace homes, and instead, created a development that oozes character and charm. Each unit is unique, allowing residents to revel in their individuality and feel like they truly belong in their home.
The building is designed with a sculptural simplicity, featuring organic forms that blend seamlessly with the architecture and interiors. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered. The attention to detail elevates the development to a whole new level of sophistication. The dramatic entryway, carved out of the rockface, creates a sense of wonder and anticipation.
Inside, the curved windows and skylights delicately play with light and shadow, illuminating the textured walls and bringing them to life.
The interior design pays homage to the monolithic form of the building, with a simple curved gesture that runs throughout the space, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the overall design.
The restrained, simple palette creates a relaxing coastal retreat with an understated sense of sophistication. The textured surfaces, such as micro cement finishes on the bathroom walls and textured paint on the living room, dining and kitchen walls evoke the feeling of sun-bleached rocks by the sea, while the muted tones and textures of the interiors create a sense of tranquillity and calm.
