The Role:

DKO is seeking a talented Front-End Design Architect to join our Perth studio.

This is an exciting opportunity for a design-focused Architect with strong Australian project experience and a passion for creating exceptional multi-residential and mixed-use developments. Working alongside a highly regarded design team, you’ll play a key role in feasibility studies, concept design and design development on complex, high-profile projects across Perth and beyond.

• Contribute to feasibility, concept design and design development phases of projects
• Develop innovative architectural design solutions across multi-residential and mixed-use projects
• Prepare presentation material, design narratives and client presentations
• Collaborate with Project Leaders, consultants and internal design teams
• Participate in design workshops, client meetings and project reviews
• Assist in the coordination of planning and development approval submissions
• Support the delivery of high-quality architectural outcomes aligned with DKO’s design standards
• Maintain a strong understanding of local planning controls and design requirements

About You:

• Degree-qualified Architect or Graduate Architect
• Experience working on Australian multi-residential projects is essential
• Strong front-end design capability with exposure to concept design and design development
• Ability to communicate and present design ideas effectively
• Strong design and graphic presentation skills
• Proficiency in ArchiCAD preferred but not required
• Understanding of local planning frameworks and development processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Passion for architecture, urban design and creating high-quality places

The Role:

You’ll contribute to projects from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants and internal teams to deliver high-quality, design-led outcomes.

• Prepare detailed documentation packages across all project phases (SD, DD, CD, CA)
• Work closely with designers to translate concepts into buildable outcomes
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors
• Review contract documentation and ensure accuracy and compliance
• Support submissions, detailing, and technical resolution
• Contribute to a collaborative and positive team environment

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or equivalent experience
• Strong ArchiCAD skills (essential)
• Experience across interior documentation and delivery
• Solid understanding of construction methods, detailing, and building codes
• Strong organisation, communication, and coordination skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Highly Regarded:

• Experience with FF&E documentation and specifications
• Exposure to multi-residential, commercial or large-scale projects
• Understanding of services coordination (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics)

The Role:

Providing day to day leadership and project management throughout the project lifecycle, the Project Architect / Coordinator will offer technical expertise and quality assurance.

• Lead the design and development of architectural projects
• Provide guidance and oversight, developing workflows to be followed
• Carry out feasibility studies identifying site constraints to determine best course of action
• Prepare and present design proposals, feasibility reports to clients
• Ensure designs consider constraining factors such the National Construction Code (NCC), town planning etc.
• Keep track of actual project hours relative to fee proposal
• Perform site visits to ensure project alignment with design intent and resolve issues

Skills & Experience:

• Registration via relevant state/territory Architect Registration Board preferred but not critical
• 5+ years’ experience in an architectural studio environment
• Proficiency in CAD software (DKO uses ArchiCAD)
• Solid knowledge of the NCC, local council requirements, town planning and environmental impacts
• Knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes and planning ordinances
• Excellent communication, whether written, visual, or verbal
• Exceptional organisation, time management and coordination
• Exposure to leadership responsibilities within an architectural firm
