ABOUT THE ROLE

Located in our Redfern Studio on the fringe of the city, we are seeking an experienced Design Architect to lead a number of projects in the Hotel and mixed use Residential space. Whilst you will have expert code and compliance knowledge, you will also have a keen eye for design and detail to challenge to the project and the team you will work with. DKO is a design focused studio. You will be working alongside our skilled team members as well as closely with the Associates and Directors to realise and deliver the quality projects. Suitable candidates will have proven experience demonstrating your capability.

Working across exciting master planning, residential and mixed-use projects, the specific roles and activities are (but not limited to) the following:

  • To carry out sketch design work;
  • To carry out work associated with preparing Architectural Planning application submissions;
  • To undertake Urban Design and Masterplanning tasks
  • Consultative approach to manage, liaise with and co-ordinate the various requirements and activities of Clients, Consultants and local Councils;
  • To carry out Site Analysis and Site Context Analysis;
  • To relate designs to relevant codes and local council requirements.
  • Management of construction documentation packages
  • Proactive site contact
  • An ability to manage a team and inspire design and excellence across all projects
  • Have a keen interest in leading and mentoring our emerging graduates in design and technical matters

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

NSW Board of Architects Registration

  • ArchiCAD preferred. Other platforms can be demonstrated – but not essential for the right candidate
  • MSOffice
  • A keen eye for detail and practicality
  • Quality Hand Sketching and detailing
  • 4 years + experience preferred
  • Sound organisation, time management and co-ordination
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

ABOUT THE ROLE

Located in our Redfern Studio on the fringe of the city, you will work closely with our studio operations team and be an influential contributor to the efficiency of the studio. Reception, assisting client engagement, in–house hospitality and studio administration will provide diversity within your role at DKO. Key to the success in this role will be your strong professional communication and presentation skills, and service standards.

The specific roles and activities are (but not limited to) the following:

  • Management of all incoming calls and associated messages including direction of all enquiries to appropriate team members
  • Meet and greet of studio visitors
  • All mail and courier related activities (receive, log and distribute)
  • Coordination of meeting rooms
  • Setting up and attending to meeting and catering requirements
  • Maintaining the reception desk and area to a clean presentable standard
  • Daily update of team movements on company Intranet

General duties

  • Management and organisation of two kitchen and utility areas
  • Maintenance of coffee machine, area and supplies
  • Ordering of consumables including: stationary and paper supplies, kitchen and amenities consumables, newspapers

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • You will have previous experience within a reception role preferably within the design industry. Barista experience preferred, but not essential.
  • You must be capable of interacting with all levels of leadership, with a high degree of personal energy and initiative with a strong attention to detail.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Located in our High Street studio in the centre of Auckland, we are seeking an experienced Architectural Technician to drive a number of projects in the accommodation and multi-residential area. You will be a confident communicator with strong leadership skills and the ability to balance multiple projects. A good design eye combined with knowledge of the New Zealand Building Code is essential, as you will be working alongside our skilled team members and management to deliver documentation for high-quality projects. As a senior member of the office, you will be expected to contribute to the DKO culture and help foster the growth of staff. Suitable candidates will have proven experience demonstrating their capability.
