ABOUT THE ROLE

Located in our Surry Hills studio, we are seeking a Senior Design Architect.  You will be a confident communicator with strong leadership skills and the ability to balance multiple projects. You will have expert code and compliance knowledge with proven Apartment Design Guide and SEPP65 experience, a keen eye for design and detail, and the ability to manage a variety of stakeholders and their needs. DKO is a design-focused studio.

Working across master planning, residential and mixed-use projects, the specific roles and activities are (but not limited to) the following:

  • To carry out sketch design work;
  • To carry out work associated with preparing Architectural Planning application submissions;
  • To undertake Urban Design and Masterplanning tasks
  • Consultative approach to manage, liaise with and co-ordinate the various requirements and activities of Clients, Consultants and local Councils;
  • To carry out Site Analysis and Site Context Analysis;
  • To relate designs to relevant codes and local council requirements.
  • An ability to manage a team and inspire design and excellence across all projects.

We are seeking Mid-Level Interior DesignerS to join our studioS.  You will be a confident communicator with a keen eye for design and detail with the ability to balance multiple projects. You will have appropriate knowledge of construction detailing and methods with 4+ years’ experience, and the ability to manage a variety of clients and their needs. DKO is a design-focused studio.

Working across multi-residential, mixed-use and hotel projects, the specific roles and activities are (but not limited to) the following:

  • To carry out Interior sketch design work;
  • To carry out Space Planning Analysis;
  • Integration of Interior and Architectural delivery;
  • Internal and External Materials and Colour selections;
  • Production of presentation material;
  • Management of and production of Interior documentation and scheduling;
  • To liaise with and coordinate the various requirements and activities of clients and consultants;

You will achieve design excellence through (but not limited to):

  • Satisfying client needs and objectives as to function, time, cost and quality
  • Maintaining leading-edge design solutions
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes and planning ordinances

We are seeking an experienced Interior Designers to manage a range of small to large sized projects of basic to complex scope with minimal supervision. The perfect candidate will be able to take initiative in response to direction or instruction, will be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines whilst building good relationships internally and externally. Ideally you will have 5+ years experience in practice.

Specific roles and activities are (but not limited to) the following:

  • Interior concept + design development work

Working across masterplanning, multi-residential, mixed use and student accommodation projects, the specific roles and activities are (but not limited to) the following:

  • To carry out sketch design work;
  • Document large residential projects, manage documentation and meet deadlines;
  • Consultant coordination;
  • Apply excellent technical knowledge of architectural project delivery;
  • Excellent knowledge of building materials and construction methods
  • Knowledge of structural, electrical, hydraulic and mechanical engineering as related to buildings;
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, laws, rules and standards regulating the design and construction of buildings;
