Laufen and Roca
In the heart of Surry Hills, just moments from Central Station, a two-level heritage building has been reimagined—not simply as a showroom, but as a spatial narrative for two of Europe’s most influential bathroom brands.
We acknowledge the Gadigal people, the traditional custodians of the land upon which the Laufen and Roca Sydney Gallery stands. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture.
Part of a global network of design-focused galleries, this project marries two renowned brands while establishing a platform for architectural dialogue, exhibitions, and industry engagement, positioning the bathroom as an integrated living space shaped by wellbeing and sustainability.
Laufen, a Swiss brand defined by precision engineering, craftsmanship and technological innovation, occupies the ground floor. Here, the design draws on the raw origins of porcelain: clay, heat, and pressure.
The upper level is dedicated to Roca, with a space that opens to light and movement. Inspired by the brand’s Mediterranean roots, the gallery captivates an airy and fluid atmosphere embracing elements of Syndey’s coastal character.
“From the outset, the vision for the Sydney gallery was to move beyond a traditional showroom and instead craft an immersive spatial experience—one where Roca and Laufen products are not simply displayed, but fully integrated into the architecture. Every element of the design works cohesively to blur the line between product and environment.”
