Koos de Keijzer, founding partner and Principal of dKO Architecture, has built a highly regarded role as an urban designer and architect, with a particular expertise in residential developments.
Koos graduated from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands with a Masters Degree in Architecture and Urban Design. Koos then tutored and worked in Amsterdam before coming to Australia in 1987. Prior to establishing dKO Architecture in 2000, Koos was a Director at HPA Architecture, spending 12 years designing and managing some of the Mirvac Group’s most complex architecture and urban projects in Australia.
Koos has been involved in several award winning projects such as The Melburnian and Beacon Cove, in Melbourne, Raleigh Park in Sydney and the Saville Apartments in Brisbane.
An unambiguous passion in typology research has given rise to a number of innovative apartment and housing typologies which embrace and enrich the Australian residential lifestyle. This passion, coupled with a firm commitment to architectural integrity, delivers a strong emphasis on contemporary sustainable communities and is being adopted as benchmarks for contemporary residential development.
Koos is a panel member of the Victorian Government’s Design Review Panel which focuses on improving the quality of built environments. He is also an active member of the Australian Institute of Architects.
As Principal of dKO, Koos is actively involved in all projects throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
Jesse Linardi, design director of DKO Architecture has established a reputation for highly conceptual and intelligent design thinking covering all aspects and scale of projects.
Jesse graduated with first class honours from RMIT with a bachelor of architecture and has tutored architecture at the University of Melbourne.
A highly talented and innovative designer with 20 years experience in the design of a broad range of project types. With exceptional skills in high end conceptual modelling, Jesse’s input including urban design and planning expertise value adds to all dKO signature buildings. He has a strong focus on design research and investigation of current international building trends and thinking.
Jesse has designed several award winning projects including being short listed at the acclaimed World Architecture Awards for the Separation street project. He consistently produces work that is published and acclaimed in the media.
As principal design director of dKO, Jesse is actively and passionately involved in all projects throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
David Randerson as director, architect, urban designer and resident manager of our DKO Sydney office, has 14 years experience in most sectors of Architectural delivery. David has specialised in residential design, masterplanning of communities and major urban design commissions which focus on the integration of public space and the built form. David’s strong design credentials are underpinned by exceptional client liaison and briefing skills. He has extensive experience with State and Local Government clients with a specialisation in design and delivery of all forms of residential projects.
Over the past few years David has been instrumental in developing housing design policy around Australia, David’s recent work includes the preparation of policy and expert advice for the Department of Planning (NSW), Growth Centers Commission, Landcom, The Land Development Agency and ACTPLA.
Mauro has an exceptional ability to interpret and augment design intent - bringing considerable experience and aptitude in the commercial and multi-residential project arena. His technical competency is highly regarded and he employs an inclusive and collaborative process with clients, suppliers, fellow staff members and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition from design development through documentation to project completion.
Mauro’s skill base has been further developed through international experience with architectural studios in Italy and Malta. He shows a heightened aptitude in coordination and management tasks as well as possessing a strong commitment to respond to each client brief and a flexibility in design development of concept.
Craig Gordon’s desire and management skillsets enabled a transition into Architectural practice management early in his career.
As DKO Business Director, his training and innate understanding of the architectural delivery process coupled with his business acumen makes Craig fundamental to the day to day business operations of DKO.
A Registered Architect with over 20 years experience within the industry, Nick Byrne has worked on a wide variety of Australian and International Architectural projects, gaining experience in the retail, residential, hospitality and commercial sectors. Nick brings strong conceptual and design skills to all types of residential projects from luxury homes to high rise apartment buildings. His role includes design management and co-ordination of several major projects for DKO, from initial concepts through to documentation and detailing, and the direction of proposals through the challenging planning approval process.
Michael began with DKO as a graduate architect in 2006, steadily progressing within the firm to the position of Associate Director and now Director. He has been the project architect on both national and international projects gaining valuable experience in the residential, retail, hotel and commercial sectors. Michael’s work has spanned across both architecture and interior design - merging the two practices into a complete design solution. Michael now heads up the Interior Design Teams across Australia, New Zealand and Vietnam. Working with local, national and international clients, Michael’s strength is from project conception and planning through to documentation, construction and delivery. Drawing on his broad range of experience, ability and enviable knowledge gives the client a highly considered approach and outcome.
Ed’s rigour and attention to design and detail is highly regarded amongst his peers. He brings over 13 years of broad experience from a number of well–regarded Australian, New Zealand and other International projects. Paired with strong concept design innovation, Ed’s skillset makes him an invaluable member of DKO and the project team.
As the leader of our New Zealand studios, Ed is committed to offering clients a holistic and focused approach by balancing current market forces, design trends and practicability of projects hence ensuring positive commercial outcomes. Ed’s recent contribution to major masterplanning and residential projects throughout the NewQuay precinct – Melbourne, East Frame – Christchurch and Three Kings – Auckland demonstrates his ability to work with large client groups, stakeholders and authorities to achieve positive outcomes.
Raymond has been with DKO Architecture since 2006, steadily being promoted from graduate architect to Director. During that time he has led a wide range of design projects throughout Australia, New Zealand, China and Malaysia. In particular, Raymond’s brings significant experience in medium and high-rise mixed use residential projects, student accommodation and boutique accommodation projects. He regularly travels amongst DKO’s five offices working across developer clients, planning and residential markets. Raymond is fluent in three languages, which assists DKO in delivering projects throughout Asia. Additionally he has an ongoing role in the architectural community via leadership and mentoring of graduates and students within the practice, as well as teaching a Masters of Architecture studio at The University of Melbourne’s Melbourne School of Design.
