Not an apartment, not a townhouse - but rather a hybrid of the two dwelling genres - The Workshop Collingwood has been designed as a contemporary insertion within an historic warehouse building. Originally a metal fabricator and photographic studio, DKO and SLAB have introduced striking black cladding and warm timber detailing to invigorate the original brick façadeInteriors have a refined, urban finesse. Polished concrete floors and monochrome fitouts channel the contemporary classic style of an archetypical SoHo loft. Hand crafted and bespoke details will abound throughout. Unique industrial elements using raw and natural materials have been immaculately detailed. Rich in robust materialism, The Workshop Collingwood will feature exposed timber ceilings, perforated metal panels, stylish storage spaces and custom built workbenches.A methodical environmental approach is inherent in the design, aiming for a minimum 6 star energy rating. This will include rainwater harvesting, renewable energy systems, and considered orientation of living spaces.
